Positive Attitude Sees Dufner Over The Line

Well he has finally done it after 2 years of hurt since he threw away a big lead at the PGA Championship in 2011 held in Atlanta. He was then beaten by good friend Keegan Bradley in a thrilling play-off and it was Bradley that was first to congratulate him after his triumph last evening.

In his speech he said that his ‘aggressive attitude paid off’, and it was a terrific final round of golf which saw him reach four under par through sixteen holes.

Furyk tried his best to keep in touch, and was two behind with two holes left, but both players could only mange bogeys in the last two holes of play which was enough to give Dufner the title that he so thoroughly deserved.

We that’s for the majors this year which is hard to believe, I really think they need to add another major between the PGA Championship and The Masters. There is too much of a break. If they had one in October that would space things out nicely. Let me know what you think?

My Betting Tips For The US PGA Championship

With the start of the US PGA Championship at Oak Hill imminent, I have selected four players who I think have not only got a great chance of winning the last of the four majors, but which I think are the best value.

So here are my four picks:

Carl Pettersson – 201/1

Bill Haas – 56/1

Keegan Bradley – 36/1

Fredrik Jacobson – 176/1

Really looking forward to the four days of golf ahead, I think it will be a really good event to watch, and think it will go down to the wire come Sunday night!

If you have had a bet then good luck, if you haven’t then enjoy watching!

Can McIlroy Salvage His Disastrous Season?

Well as I’m sure you know, we  have another big weekend of golf ahead. It’s the Bridgestone Invitational in America, at Firestone Country Club, a tournament that has been dominated by Tiger Woods over recent years.

It’s the last tournament before the final major of the year at Oak Hill, and it seems like only yesterday we were talking about the start of The Masters!

Rory McIlroy who won the US PGA last year will be hoping for a good week at Firestone so he can feel in good spirits when he goes to defend his title next week.

McIlroy says he feels in a positive frame of mind this week, and  feels even better than he did last year when he also had a bit of a slump before the same event.

It really is a big couple of weeks for McIlroy, he will want to get a top 10 finish in either of the next two tournaments and then carry that on until the end of the year. Once you get out of the habit of finishing in the top 10 every week, it can be very hard to get back into that habit, and he will be concerned however much he might come across as not being.
