
Take sand wedge or lob wedge depending on how quickly you need to get the ball up in the air and make sure feet are firmly in the sand. With the ball left of centre in your stance aim feet and body slightly left of target but with club face aiming at target

With a slightly steeper than normal angle of attack make sure that you hit the sand before the ball, in this this case I have to get the ball up quickly so I’m hitting at least an inch and half behind the ball

Here you see the explosion of sand, and the club face never actually touches the ball because there is sand in between. Also notice how my club continues down through the ball
