Adam Scott Will Take No 1 Spot From Tiger With Win At Doral

As we head towards the second WGC Championship of the year Tiger Woods’ No.1 spot is looking ever more precarious as Adam Scott has the chance to overtake him with a win at the new-look Blue Monster course in Miami.

However, Tiger Woods does have to finish outside of the top seven, and if we know Tiger like we do, he will be doing everything in his powers not only to not finish outside the top seven but to actually win the tournament.

Woods’ fitness is a little unknown after his last round in the Honda Classic was cut short due to back spasms after the 13th hole, rumours were flying around that he had left the course because he was playing badly, but Tiger is not known for doing this and has always played on even if he is having a bad day.

If Adam Scott does managed to claim the top spot, he will become only the second Australian golfer after Greg Norman to achieve this since the ranking system started in 1986.

Scott ,who had a wonderful year in 2013 has looked like the complete player for a long time mow, and since his Masters win you feel he will be a threat in every major for the foreseeable future.

The Players Championship Most Memorable Moment

The Players Championship is under way, and  American Scott Stallings  is five under par through only five holes! What an incredible start to the championship.

This event seems to bring the best out of players and we’ve had some great champions in the past who have given us some great moments including Greg Norman, Fred Couples, Nick Price, Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia, but the most memorable moment for me has to be when Tiger Woods holed that monster putt on the tough 17th hole back in 2001 and then went on to win the title. It really was a moment that I’ll never forget.

If you can’t remember that putt, here it is:

I wonder who the champion will be come Sunday? Will there be a defining moment that gives someone the edge going into the final few holes? The one thing for sure is that the winner here is a deserved winner and will have had to play some great golf to lift that trophy.

Great Golf Courses | Number 3 | Augusta National

Augusta has to be one of my favourite courses of all time, it hosts the second biggest Major of the year ‘The Masters’. Every year when it comes around you can feel the excitement growing around all golf fans as it’s the sign that spring is here and the golf season is a about to get underway again!

Augusta is the most picturesque golf course in the world with its amazing array of flowers and shrubs. Augusta is known best for it’s fast and sloping greens which can make the best players in the world look foolish at times, and it’s usually the person that handles the greens the best that goes on to win.

The course has had to be extended over the years to cope with the advances of technology as it was playing a little bit to easy at one stage, but its back to its toughest again now stretching over 7,400 yards.  The course has 10 par 4’s, 4 par 3’s and 4 par 5’s.

Past Winners include:  Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo, Tiger Woods, and  Phil Mickleson.

Nick Price and Greg Norman share the course record which stands at 63.

The mystery of how Bobby Jones and course designer Alister MacKenzie  first met — and how Jones arrived at picking MacKenzie to design Augusta National Golf Club — has never been fully explained.

The golfer and architect created their masterpiece in the early 1930s, and it is the center of attention each spring as the home of the Masters Tournament.
