The biggest name in world golf Tiger Woods has said he is ready for The Open as preparations continue ahead of Thursday’s opening round.
Woods has now been without a major for 5 years when he claimed the US Open title back in 2008, and it was two years before that he last claimed the Claret Jug at The Royal Liverpool Golf Club in 2006, where he fought off the challenges of Chris DiMarco and Ernie Els.
It’s been a fruitful year for Woods so far, but he has been unable to reproduce the form shown on the regular tour events in the major championships.
Maybe it’s pressure, maybe it’s not, but you can be sure he will give it 100% when he steps onto the first tee on Thursday on he will believe that he can win.
Once he gets this long awaited 15th major I think he will get another five or six, if he can just break this mental barrier that the majors seem to have over him at the moment.
