Why Not Try Golf, Tennis Or Skiing In West London At The Weekend

Well the sun is shining at last and the golf course and golf driving range at Dukes Meadows in Chiswick  has been booming with customers over the weekend which is great to see after a tough winter.

People have been coming down to use our great facilities that we have here in West London, the bar and cafe which serves food and drink throughout the day has seen its best weekend of the year so far. The patio area overlooking the first tee and picturesque lake has been well used with people catching some well earned sun whilst sipping on their cappuccino’s and enjoying lunch with their friends and family.

The outlook at Dukes Meadows really is a treat for people who have had a tough week at work and just want to relax and enjoy themselves, even for the non-golfer as we have plenty of other things to offer.

Whilst your partner might be golf mad, you might not be, so why not have a game of tennis, use our gym or even have a go on our indoor ski slopes….. yes I said indoor ski slopes! You can even take a walk along the river if you have a dog  and see where the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race finishes. Yes we have it all here.

If you happen to come down on Sunday morning for a golf lesson or 9 holes around our executive 9 hole par 3 course and then fancy a Sunday roast, there are several pubs to visit in the area of Chiswick, Mortlake and Barnes who serve up great pub grub as well as a traditional Sunday roast.

If you would like any further information on Golf Lessons , the Golf Course or even things to do in the area then please don’t hesitate to contact me here.

Also check out my other website ‘Golf Lessons London‘ where you can also book golf lessons with me.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Tiger Sniffing After Golden Bear In The Woods

Tiger Woods is going into the Masters at Augusta a red-hot favourite according to eight-time European Tour Champion Colin Montgomerie. The big Scot believes that if Tiger can putt the way he has done in the past month then he will be virtually unbeatable.

Although the current World Number One has had his problems with injuries in recent years, this year has seen him win three times already and if he can win here in Augusta then I believe that Jack Nicklaus’ record is definitely in danger of being beaten by Tiger. It’s hard not to see him winning at least two majors this year which will take him to 16 majors with still a long way to go in his career.

Two days to go!

Laird Wins By Two Over In-Form McIlroy

A superb win for Scotland’s Martin Laird late last night in the Texas Open has ensured that he will be travelling to Augusta this week to compete in the Masters which starts on Thursday.

Laird started the day five shots behind leader Billy Horschel, but was soon to catch up with four birdies early on on in his round.

It was Northern Irishman and No.2 in the world Rory McIlroy who ended up being Lairds nearest rival. McIlroy will be going into the Masters feeling a lot better after a good competitive week of golf and being in the last couple of groups once again.

Well Thursday is all set to be a great day in the golfing calender as we see the start of one of my favourite tournaments in the world.

It’s Time For A European To Win The Masters

The long wait is nearly over until the first major of the season gets underway next week at Augusta, and it’s felt like a long time coming through these cold winter days that seem to be never ending. But you can almost smell the sun and the Azaleas now!

The Masters has always been an event in which European players have done well in past. We’ve had many winners in the last few decades including, Nick Faldo, Ian Woosnam, Sandy Lyle, Jose Maria Olazabal and of course the great Seve and I think we could add to that list this year.

With 38 European Tour players getting their places and heading to Augusta National next week we really do have a great chance of seeing one of them coming back with the Green Jacket.

Don’t forget that you can view My Betting Tips for the Masters HERE

Roll on next Thursday.

Is There Anything That Can Stop Tiger Now?

Tiger Woods is back to where he wants be and where I think he will stay for a very long time now.

After a turbulent couple of years he has put all of his woes behind him and shown everyone what a great champion he is and what great champion he will still be in the future.

Two years ago we all thought that we had seen the last of one of the greatest golfers that has ever lived, his personal life was in tatters, he had dropped to outside the top 50 in the world and he had to publicly apologise for his actions in front of millions of people, something that would have finished many men off. But this guy is made of something that  I think is nearly inhuman.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that he will break Jack Nicklaus’ record, he wants to be the best in world and he has such a strong mind and wants to be the best that I don’t think anyone can stop him now.

Tiger Having It All His Own Way Again

The Bay Hill Invitational final round is  back underway after severe rain and tornado warnings  stopped play yesterday. Like you, I was ready to settle down yesterday evening to hopefully watch Tiger romp to victory for the third time this season but unfortunately the weather won that battle.

As it currently stands Tiger is three shots clear of Keegan Bradley  (who is nine under par) going into the sixth hole and looks pretty comfortable at the moment. The wind is up a bit today and it’s hard to see many players shooting low scores in these conditions, and you feel that all Tiger will have to do is shoot a 72 to win here and take the No.1 spot from McIlroy.

The Italian Stallion Back To Claim Title

Young Italian Matteo Manassero  is returning to the scene where he won back in 2011 and is looking to find that form again after toning up and losing a lot of weight.

The teenager who has spent over a month in the golfing off-season toning his body and getting himself fit so he can cope with the endurance that professional golf requires in this day and age and returns to Malaysia as fit as he’s ever been.

He always had some puppy fat which a lot of teenagers have but felt that if he was going to compete at the top level week in week out the would have to fitter and stronger.

Manassero has always been a good golfer with the potential to be in the worlds top 10, I just hope that losing too much weight doesn’t effect his swing too much as it has done with players in the past. He has had to make some swing adjustments already so we shall see what happens.

Donald Chasing The Dollar In Malaysian Open

This week’s European Tour event heads to Malaysia for the Maybank Malaysian Open which will see Luke Donald as the star attraction in a star studded field. This will be the first time Donald has played in this event which sees an increased prize fund this year up to $2.75million. Umm I wonder what attracted him this time?

Donald had a good finish last week at the Tampa Bay Championship where he eventually finished fourth and this week in Kuala Lumpur will be looking to claim his eight win on the European Tour.

Donald has yet to claim a European Tour victory since the BMW Championship last summer and will be desperate to put that right this week.

Chinnarat Phadungsil Plays Best Round Of His Life

Something happened today that we don’t see that often. No not a round of 58 but a back nine of 28 from Thailand’s Chinnarat Phadungsil who produced some scintillating golf in the opening round the Avantha Masters.

The 25 year old who won his maiden event at the age of 17 ended up carding a round of 61 and leads the tournament by five shots and said that it was the best round of golf he has ever played.

He managed seven successive birdies in a round of eleven birdies in total and with no dropped shots.

There are five players tied for second at the end of today’s play who will be hoping Phadungsil won’t have such a good day tomorrow!

Different Golf Lesson Options At Dukes Meadows

It’s coming to that time of year when people are looking to take golf lessons either as a beginner or as a golfer who wants to get their game into shape for the season ahead and work on getting their handicap down.

There are many different options when taking golf lessons. Some people like to just work on their swing on the driving range and sort out out a technical fault that they might have, while others like to work on different parts of their golf game.

Here at Dukes Meadows we have lots of different teaching areas to suit the needs of every golfer. We have a short game area where we can work on chipping, pitching and bunker play and also a separate putting green. These areas can be used by all standards of golfer to improve their game and is very much useful for beginners to get their game ready for the golf course.

We have a great par 3 course at Dukes Meadows which is a good test for any level of golfer, it’s great for beginners to get to know how to play on a course and learn about the rules and etiquette of golf.

It is also very challenging for the better golfer with it’s undulating greens and deep bunkers.

So if you’re interested in starting to play golf or just improve your game then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with here and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
